Marking what they asked for

Most tickets are not a tidy column. The customer has numbers — a birthday, an anniversary, the same six they have played for eleven years — and your job is to put those exact numbers on the ticket and no others.

Read it back

Say the numbers back before you print. It costs three seconds and it is the only check that happens before the ticket becomes real. Once it prints, a wrong number is a void and a rewrite, in front of a queue.

Then collect

Same as the last lesson: print, then collect. This one is a straight collect with no change, so the drawer should end up richer by exactly the ticket price.
